Product Safety & Care
These products are not medical devices. Vital Veil Armour, Shells, Everyday Shells and Patches are decorative and protective accessories.
They do not monitor glucose, deliver insulin, treat diabetes or replace any device made by Abbott, Dexcom, Medtronic, Insulet or any other manufacturer.
Always follow the instructions that came with your CGM or pump. If those instructions conflict with anything on this site, the device manufacturer’s instructions win.
Only use the Shell and Armour made for your exact sensor or pump model. A Libre 2 Shell will not fit a Libre 3. Forcing the wrong size can damage the device or pull it from the skin.
• Use the removal tool supplied. Do not prise the Armour or Shell off with your nails, keys or by pulling at the sensor.
• We recommend wearing an Over Patch around the sensor while the Shell or Armour is in place. This helps keep the sensor on the skin.
• If the Shell feels tight, stop. Do not force it. Contact us with your device model and photos before you keep trying.
Cal Jewellery Ltd is not responsible for a sensor or pump coming away from the skin, or for any lost readings, wasted sensors, extra prescriptions or medical costs, where the product was fitted, removed or worn other than as described on this page. This does not affect your legal rights if the product itself is faulty.
Do not wear Armour or Shells in bed. Lying on the product can press it into the sensor, bend the metal, crack the Shell, reduce scan range or lift the sensor off the skin. Take the Armour and Shell off before sleep.
Shells are printed in PLA. PLA softens and can warp or shrink in heat.
Do not leave Armour or Shells in a hot car, on a radiator, on a windowsill in direct sun, in a sauna, or against any other heat source.
Do not use a dishwasher, hairdryer or boiling water on them.
If a Shell has been in heat and no longer fits, stop using it and contact us.
Do not force a warped Shell back onto a sensor.
Armour and Shells are splash-proof only.
Sweat, hand washing and light rain are fine.
Do not soak them, swim in them, shower in them for long periods, or wear them in a bath, hot tub or pool.
Water can sit between the Shell and the sensor and may affect the adhesive on your sensor or patch.
Take Armour and Shells off for contact sport, including rugby, boxing, martial arts, hockey and similar.
PLA is rigid. It does not absorb impact.
A blow to the arm can crack the Shell, bend the Armour or dislodge the sensor.
Phone NFC and app scanning is designed to work through the Shell and Armour.
There may be a reduction in range. Check your readings in the way your device manufacturer tells you to.
If your phone is far from the sensor, scan more often.
Remove the Armour and Shell if you cannot get a reading, then try again.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted connection, alarm delivery or any particular scan distance.
A parent or guardian must supervise fitting, removal and daily checks for anyone under 18.
Do not leave a child to force a Shell on or pull an Armour off.
Shells are PLA.
Armour is stainless steel, including gold plated finishes where stated.
Over Patches use medical-style adhesive.
If you have a metal allergy, adhesive allergy or sensitive skin, do not use the product without checking suitability.
Stop use if the skin becomes sore, red or broken and speak to a clinician.
Email shop@vital-veil.com with your order number, device model and photos.
Do not keep wearing a bent Armour, a cracked Shell or a Shell that has shrunk.
